Festivities

Every year on the 24th of July, Enterprise has a big bash! They have a parade that morning, followed by a program at the church, lunch in the park, kids races and then a rodeo that evening. This year Crossroads asked if we would drive one of their gators in the parade so we had to be lined up quite early. We decided it would be easiest to go over the night before and stay the night at Jer's parents house. When we got there some of Jer's extended family was doing fireworks at his Aunt Lori's house, so we went and watched those. Wyatt was so funny, he watched the whole firework show with sunglasses on. Everyone kept asking him how the fireworks were, and he would say, "Fine." Of course I did not get a picture of this cause I did not take my camera over with me. In the morning after caking lots of sunscreen all over my kids we drove a gator in the parade. Of course Jer's whole family was in the parade for one reason or another, so we didn't have anyone to take pic's of us, so once again I don't have pic's to share. Anyway, the parade was really fun, and Wyatt did really good. He helped Jer drive and smiled and waved at everyone. Syd was real good too, she just sat on my lap. After the parade we went over to the church where they had a program. Jer's dad just got released from the Stake Presidency so he went up front with the others that were just released and got recognized and were given a gift. I told Jer that I think it is neat that they start and end the program with a prayer, and recognize the outgoing Stake Presidency and not have someone throw a fit because they are offended. In a bigger town you wouldn't be able to get away with incorporating the church like that. I think that's sad. After the program we had lunch and then stayed for the kids races. Now, I don't know why we bother, Wyatt wouldn't race last year, and he refused to race this year. It's too bad too cause he's a fast little booger. He'd win! So we sat out in the heat and watched nieces and nephews race. That evening we went to the rodeo which is always a good time. We were there extremely late, but it was well worth it. Thanks for bearing with me through that incredibly long post. Hope all of you had a great 24th!

Once again, these kind of post make me a little sad for what we miss out on- but of course July 24 isn't a holiday here and my kids are in school anyway! Congrats on finding an apartment- you're really moving up in the world with your own washer and dryer- fancy!!
